The conference reflected on the system approach to energy and acted as a common platform for governments, private sector and civil society leaders. Over the course of the three days, panelists attending the high level panels discussed the main challenges and areas of opportunity in the Caribbean and Latin-American region to promote the greater use of renewable energy sources.
One of the key outcomes of the conference was the adoption of a declaration on key elements to enhance the sustainable energy transition in Latin America and the Caribbean. It acknowledges the determining role energy efficiency and renewable energy play in achieving the targets set in the Paris Agreement. Furthermore, the participants called for improvement cooperation and collaboration between energy-related initiatives and organizations.
The conference also contributed to the strategy framework to promote the use of Cleaner Technologies and Fuels, strengthened the strategic dialogue with global stakeholders and leaders, and highlighted the synergies between small and middle sized enterprises.
