Climate Investment Platform Targets Increase in Flow of Capital to Clean Energy Projects
The Climate Investment Platform (CIP) is a partnership aiming to include stakeholders from governments and international organizations to the private sector to scale-up climate action and translate ambitious national climate targets into concrete investments on the ground. The platform, which will be launched in the first quarter of 2020, is dedicated to the global transition to clean energy as well as to climate change adaptation, land use, cities and infrastructure. Building on the basis of a strong partnership and involving the key institutions of the energy sector, the Climate Investment Platform accelerates the system-wide change and delivers multiple benefits across the Sustainable Development Goals, with a special focus on developing countries. The progress achieved so far will be presented at UNFCCC COP 25 in December 2019.
The platform is accessible under this link and you can learn more about it on the IRENA homepage here.
